Are you missing Pap? Well, not only is this lower carb (like, way), its also not Generically modified, and its nutritious!!

Ingredients:
Cabbage
Water
Psyllium husk
Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
Wash and chop cabbage, then place in Liquidizer with a little water.
Liquidize until smooth.
Strain through muslin cloth or clean kitchen towel.
Squeeze out all the extra moisture.
This is what it should look like...
Place into a pot and cook the cabbage mixture through.
Add 1 tbs psyllium and seasoning.
Stir until well mixed, and the mixture sticks together like pap.
Enjoy!
Can I still cook it without the psyllium husk?

ReplyDeleteI used ground flaxseed (ground the seeds in a coffee grinder). Did the same thing.

DeleteYou can use heba as a replacement for psyllium but u may need to add more.
ReplyDeleteIt cooks because heat is applied to it. It doesn't need moisture to cook.
How do you prevent it from burning and how long should it cook.

ReplyDeleteI tried and it works. It was so delicious! I mixed mine with 1/4 cub Hebba and some dry herbs, salt and pepper. Hd it with a side of beef liver strips and gravy. It was worth all the trouble, it totally kicked my pap craving out the window. Am so happy!
