What is fasting?

This is just a quick explanation on what fasting is, and how it may help you.

Firstly, you can get our new book, The South African Keto and Intermittent fasting cookbook HERE which will explain everything in more detail.

So, you know how we usually eat three meals a day, like breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

Well, intermittent fasting is like taking a break from eating sometimes.

Imagine your body is like a car. Food is like gasoline. Usually, you put gasoline in the car every few hours so it keeps going.

But with intermittent fasting, you only put gasoline in the car sometimes. The car (your body) learns to use the gasoline (food) better and even finds other ways to make energy!

There are different ways to do intermittent fasting, like:

1. Eating only during certain hours (e.g., 12pm-8pm).

2. Skipping some meals (e.g., no breakfast).

3. Eating only one or two meals a day.

When you're not eating, your body:

1. Fixes and strengthens itself.

2. Uses stored energy (like extra gasoline).

3. Gets better at using food when you do eat.

It's like giving your car (body) a little rest and tune-up!

And always eat nutritious food when you do eat, okay?
