Hearty Beef and Vegetable Soup - Magdalena Bezuidenhout


1.5kg Beef brisket/shortib  roughly chopped
500g Ground beef/mince
250g streaky bacon
700g Blanched carrots
700g Turnips roughly cut and some grated
500g frozen peas
Chopped celery and leeks
Fresh parsley chopped
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
1 packet tomato paste
1 tsp Garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
1.5 tsp Cajun Spice (under spices tab)
Top up with water and boil for +- 2/3hours


Fry off all the meats until browned.
Add all the vegetables and fry off for a few minutes.
Add the tomato paste and top up with water.
Cook for around 2-3 hours.
