I am always looking for new ideas on different style breads. My mom comes down to cape town once every 3 or 4 months, then I bake enough for her to freeze and take back with her.
This one was so great I couldn't resist having two slices!!
Ingredients:
2 slices ham
200g heba pap
1 tbs baking powder
500ml amasi or milk or water or yoghurt
Pinch of salt
4 eggs
60g grated cheese
Method:
Preheat oven to 180C.
In a bowl, mix together the heba pap, baking powder, cheese and chop the ham adding it to the mix too.
In a separate bowl, mix eggs and liquid and salt.
Mix dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Grease and Line a baking tin with baking paper, and press down mixture into tin.
Bake for 60 minutes, remove from tin and bake for a further 15 minutes.
Cool completely before slicing!
Enjoy!
Optional: use half a slice and garnish the top of the loaf with alices of ham and some grated cheese
