Pea and Bacon Soup

This is a tasty, hearty soup!
Easy to make, and cost effective as not only does it use affordable ingredients, but slow cooks in the haybag!

Ingredients:
1.5kg bacon bones (use normal if you don't have bacon bones!)
200g streaky bacon
100g onion 
200g celery
50g tomato
200g carrots
750g split peas (cooked)
(soaked for 24hrs, water changed 3 times then cooked)
2 tbs apple cider vinegar
Water
Salt and pepper to taste
Cream cheese for finishing

Method:

Soak split peas as above, then cook and drain.
Brown bones and bacon in pot.
Wash and chop vegetables and sweat off in pot.
Add cooked split peas and allow to cook for a few minutes.
Add seasoning, apple cider vinegar and cover with water and bring to the boil.
Place in haybag and allow to Cook overnight.
Alternatively - allow to simmer for about an hour.
Remove meat from bones - if any - blend if you like the soup like that...then add a blob of cream cheese.

Recipe makes 17 portions+- (250g)
6.6g net carbs per portion.
