How to Print Your A5 Book at Home (Like a Proper Book)
This printable is designed to be printed as a real A5 book, folded and stapled, just like a professionally bound booklet.
What you’ll need
✅ The A5 PDF file (this download)
✅ A printer that can print on A4 paper
(I used an Epson L382 inkjet printer)
✅ Adobe Acrobat Reader (free)
✅ A4 paper (standard printer paper is fine)
✅ A stapler or staple gun
✅ A bit of patience (inkjets take their time!)
Printing Instructions (IMPORTANT)
These steps are for printing a proper folded A5 book, not loose pages.
Step 1: Open the file
Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader
Go to File → Print
Step 2: Set your print options
Paper size: A4
Page Sizing & Handling: Booklet
Binding: Left
Scaling: None / 100%
Do not choose “Fit to page”
👉 Acrobat will automatically arrange the pages in the correct book order.
Step 3: Print (manual double-sided)
If your printer does not print double-sided automatically (like mine):
Start printing — the printer will print the front sides first
When Acrobat prompts you:
Reload the printed pages into the tray
Printed side facing UP
Top edge going into the printer first
Click OK to continue printing the back sides
(If you’re not prompted, reprint using “Booklet → Back side only”)
After Printing
Stack the pages in order
Fold each A4 sheet in half
Staple along the fold (I used a staple gun, but u can use normal Staples and make a hole in the spine using )
Enjoy your finished A5 book
Helpful Notes
✔ Total pages must be a multiple of 4 (e.g. 16, 32, 64)
✔ Print a small test (first 8 pages) if you’re unsure
✔ Inkjet printers are slow — this is normal!
You now have a proper printed book, made at home 👏
